Term, Rules & Regulations

  1. This agreement is solely for the owner and vessel listed:
    1. Owner may not assign, sublease or transfer this agreement to any other person or vessel.
    2. The Dock Master (Dock Mistress) will assign all storage.  This is the only person who can change that assignment.
  2. All storage shall be at the sole risk of the owner and owner shall at times maintain liability and casualty insurance coverage on the vessel, property within, and activities in connection therewith.  Port Conneaut Marina shall not be liable for and is thereby released by owner for all claims of damage or loss to the vessel or owner due to fire, theft, collision, or other casualty.  Owner shall indemnify and hold collision, injury, or other casualty to persons or property caused by negligence of owner or the condition or use of vessel.
  3. Owner shall, at times, keep his vessel, and surrounding space clean and free of debris or any conditions that may be dangerous to the health, safety, or well-being of any person.  No flammable or hazardous substances may be kept in or around his vessel or marina property.  It is owner’s responsibility to correct any conditions in or around his vessel, which constitute a fire hazard, health menace, or nuisance.  If owner should fail to do any of the foregoing, necessary steps will be taken to remove the hazard or correct the condition and charge the expense to the owner.
  4. Conneaut Port Authority will not be responsible for any losses, damages, or injuries to owner or his family, or guests while on the premises.  Owner must accompany all children under the age of eight (8) while on the docks.  All children under the age of twelve (12) must wear life preservers while they are in or around any vessel, dock, or water area.
  5. Owner must secure vessel in his slip, properly and safely.  All new dock holders will be instructed the proper procedure and proper size lines for vessel.  Each season, all dock holders must obtain the Dock Master / Dock Mistress Approval when he first docks the vessel.  Owner will be charged for any damage caused by an improperly moored vessel.
  6. For the benefit of the owner, Port Conneaut Yacht Club, and Conneaut Lagoon, the Conneaut Port Authority may take actions deemed necessary to save or protect a vessel from damage or destruction without the owner’s knowledge or consent.  This will be done at the owner’s expense.
  7. No persons other than the owner, his immediate family, or guests will be allowed aboard the vessel while in storage.  (Please fill out family list on your contract).
  8. To help provide owner’s convenience, safety, and to allow for guest dockage, owner must file a “Float Plan” and notify the Dock Master / Dock Mistress when vessel will be absent from storage for more than forty-eight (48) hours.
  9. Owner must be responsible for all family and guests.  Owner agrees that he, his family nor his guests will cause and disturbances.
  10. Owner must keep vessel and surrounding area in clean condition.
  11. Quiet time will be observed from 11:00pm until 7:00am every day.
  12. Absolutely no Roller Skates, Roller Blades, Skate Boards, or Bicycles will be permitted around vessels.
  13. Vessels will be fueled only at the gas dock.  No vessel shall be fueled from any container.  You must observe the “No Smoking and Turn Off All Switches” while at the gas dock.  Use blowers for ample time prior to starting engines after fueling.
  14. Boat trailers are not allowed to be stored on premises.
  15. Dock Boxes must be installed by authorized personnel and must meet Dock Master / Dock Mistress Approval.
  16. No Fire, Firearms, or Fireworks will be tolerated on premise.
  17. Fish must be cleaned taken off premise.
  18. Parking:
    Each owner may have only one vehicle on premise.  If you have guests, family, or charter clients they must park outside of the marina parking lot.  No one has a reserved parking spot.  “No Parking Zone” must be observed.  If you fail to observe the No Parking Zone, you will be asked to move your vehicle, only once.  If you continue to ignore the No Parking Zone your vehicle will be towed away at your own expense.
  19. It is prohibited to throw or discharge sewage, oil-laden bilge fluids, refuse matter, or any other pollutants into the waters of the marina.  In the event of such discharge, the owner will be responsible for the cost of clean up.  All removed oils, residue, and solid refuse must be disposed of in accordance with all existing local, state, and federal rules and regulations that govern such action.  All vessels that receive sewage should be fitted with Type 111 Marine Sanitation Devices and Holding Tanks.  No “Though-Hull” valves or fittings will be allowed.
  20. Pets:
    All pets must be on a leash whenever they are on premise.  At no time will a pet be allowed to run at large.  Owner is responsible for proper disposal of pet’s waste.  If the pet becomes a nuisance, the owner will be required to remove that pet from premise.  Absolutely, at no time, will any pet be permitted into the clubhouse building or restrooms.
  21. Dock Master / Dock Mistress reserves the right to move owner’s vessel within the premise at any time.
  22. Absolutely no padding, carpeting, bumper materials etc. will be tolerated.
  23. No swimming or fishing will be allowed at the marina.
  24. All vessels must be out of the water by closing date.  A fee of $25.00 per day will be charged to the owner for any vessel still in the water after that date.  All charges for any reason must be paid in full before vessel leaves the premise.
  25. Conneaut Port Authority reserves the right to reject any contract application on basis of condition of the vessel.  A vessel may be rejected if it is felt to cause a hazard to the marina.
  26. "For Sale" signs will not be permitted on the vessel or storage area.
  27. Campers, truck campers, etc. must be parked off premise.
  28. Owner will comply with all laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations of the Conneaut Port Authority, City of Conneaut, and the State of Ohio that may pertain to the dockage, storage, or operation to the vessel.  Owner will correct any violation.
